I’ve been editing since 2008 in various forms: I do everything from developmental editing to proofreading, depending on the project.
I started out as a private tutor before joining a ghost writing agency as a ghost writer and editor. I later started working for an academic writing center as a tutor and writing consultant, and I have experience editing academic papers, novels, memoirs, poetry chapbooks, D&D adventures, and many other forms of writing. I have taught first-year college writing courses, as well as some more specialized writing courses, including Editing for Style.
My editing rates vary depending on the level of editing (proofreading, copy editing, developmental editing) as well as the length and type of project (blog post, academic article, short story, book or novel, etc.), though I typically use the median rate ranges chart from the Editorial Freelancers Association as a basis.
